THE GREENE SCHOOL
1/5
Schmidt Nichols provided landscape architecture and urban planning services for The Greene School. The private school is based on the concept of a learning garden, pushing the boundaries of school architecture by providing students with a porous environment in which they can seamlessly experience both nature and technology. The outdoor play area was a major component in distinguishing this educational institution from the rest. Included in the design were man-made hills for students to play, read, and create among, as well as climbable three dimensional structures, soccer fields, tennis courts, vegetable gardens, and future plans for an outdoor library.
