SOUTH FLORIDA SCIENCE CENTER

Schmidt Nichols acted as the lead consultant for the South Florida Science Museum's 2016-2020 major expansion which includes the Conservation Course, the Physics Forest, a splash pad, outdoor seating with a full-service concession stand and an outdoor amphitheater all of which will one day connect to the neighboring Palm Beach Zoo.

The following services were provided to accomplish these added features: due diligence analysis, Class 'B' Special Use permit approval, master site planning, landscape architecture, lease renewal with the City of West Palm Beach, coordination of an inter-local funding agreement and public representation. Throughout each phase of the project Schmidt Nichols facilitated open lines of communication between the client, the Palm Beach Zoo, and multiple municipal departments. The role Schmidt Nichols played was key in developing a master plan that would include short and long term goals, in addition to creating a LEED certified  educational park.
