COMMUNITY INTEREST

Cox Science Center. Schmidt Nichols served as lead consultant for the 2016–2020 expansion of the Cox Science Center and Aquarium, including the Conservation Course, Physics Forest, splash pad, outdoor seating, amphitheater, and future connection to the Palm Beach Zoo. Services included master planning, landscape architecture, permitting, public representation, and coordination with municipal departments to create a LEED-certified educational park.

Community Foundation. Schmidt Nichols assisted the Community Foundation with a park re-configuration, providing due diligence, site planning, landscape and hardscape design, and construction documents. The firm also delivered construction administration services and coordinated multiple consultants to ensure successful project completion in 2020.

PBC Fire Rescue Station 44. Palm Beach County Fire Station No. 44 is a 5,500 sq. ft. fire rescue facility on just over 2 acres. Jon E. Schmidt and Associates provided professional services for Landscape Plans required for permitting and construction. Plans include perimeter and interior landscaping, parking, building footprints, service areas, circulation, drop-off points, loading, buffers, trash, signage, and drainage. They show existing plant material to be preserved and proposed landscaping that meets minimum requirements and approved conditions of approval.
