BERGERON SAND ROCK & AGGREGATE

The Bergeron complex is located in the protected Everglades Agricultural Area. The scope of work for this project included an expansion of the existing mining facility that has been in operation for nearly two decades. The mining facility produces Certified Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) rip-rap, sand and aggregates. Currently, the facility supplies FDOT, South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) and the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACOE) with aggregate used in the construction of roadways as well as in the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP). Schmidt Nichols provided due diligence, conditional use, rezoning and final site plan approval applications, site plan and public representation for this project completed on schedule and within budget in 2008.
